~Photo Challenge: “Pink Week”~

The theme this week for I ♥ Faces is “Pink Week”…in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I would like to dedicate my entry this week to my Aunt Sharon – my generous, loving, beautiful and very brave aunt who has struggled with breast cancer longer than any person should have to.  We thank God that it seems like she has beaten this dreaded disease…and she did it while maintaining a spirit of gracefulness, thankfulness and cheerfulness.  I will never forget the beautiful emails she sent out updating us on her progress and how those emails seemed to always end up encouraging all of us in her family who were praying for her.  Even through she was the one fighting this horrible disease, she always ended up giving all of us hope.  She is definitely one of my heroes!

Here is a link to my aunt’s American Cancer Society page where she is raising money for their next big walk for the Relay For Life.

My “Pink Week” Entry:

Several weeks ago, my neighbor called and invited us to attend her daughter’s volleyball game which was part of “Volley For The Cure.”  I absolutely loved watching these girls play not only because they wanted to win, but also to make a difference during Breast Cancer Awareness month.  It was extra-fun because all of their teams won that night!  🙂

I’ll just let you know right now that I am cheating this week.  If you are entering this week’s photo challenge because you want to win, please make sure you follow our guidelines and only have one photo in your post.  Since I can’t be considered as a “winner” though, I’m adding more photos from that night.  I know, I know…I’m a “cheater-cheater pumpkin eater!”

I’m so glad we were there to be a part of this special event…and to help take a stand against breast cancer!bca12

Head on over to I Faces to see the amazing “Pink Week” entries.  The entries always inspire me as a photographer, but this week I’m sure they are going to inspire us all in other ways as well.  I’m getting my tissues ready now!

Go Pink!
