“At The Beach” Photo Challenge

This was totally and completely unplanned, but my family and I just returned from a week-long vacation to upper Michigan where we spent approximately 1,500 hours playing on the beautiful beaches up there. And this week’s I ♥ Faces theme is “At The Beach.”

It doesn’t get much more convenient than that!

Here’s my dilemma though…each week I (unlike a certain other co-founder you all might know of) always try to follow the rules and only post ONE photo for the theme (and don’t I just sound like a self-righteous little stinker…hee!) All kidding aside, this week’s theme sure is tempting me to break that rule by about 20 other photos because I just have a whole slew of them that I want to share.

I’ll be a good girl though and only post one. Mainly because 1) I know that I’m going to be blogging about our vacation until my friends and family get completely sick of hearing about it and 2) next week is the time when Amy and I will be taking a break from I Faces and will be hosting our “My Story In Photos” week when there won’t be any “winners.” The theme for that week is simply called “Summer” so that we all can write about anything we’d like to that happened during the summer. I’m sure I’ll be able to fit some vacation photos in at that time if I’d like to.

So…here is my one photo:

I seriously spent hours upon hours sitting on the beach taking hundreds of photos of my kids while they were playing. It was wonderful! Catching those candid moments when they weren’t even aware of my camera and just acted completely natural…that’s the type of photography I love more than anything else.

Most of my shots were full of little bottoms sticking up in the air while the kiddos searched for stones and other goodies in Lake Michigan, but every once in awhile I’d catch a shot with some faces in it.

And life was good…

{As always, as a co-founder of I Faces I’m not eligible to win the weekly photo challenges, but I sure do enjoy participating in them! You can begin entering your “At The Beach” photo early Monday morning.}
