A Bit About Me.

I was absolutely, completely, wholeheartedly dreading the theme at I Heart Faces this week. Like so many women, I am the photographer in our family. I am the photographer not just because I love photography, but also because I hate having photos taken of me. I really, really despise it.

I’ve spent the past day trying to go through every single entry at I Heart Faces though, and it has been a complete inspiration to me. We have a lot of female participants and about 99% of them wrote that this was the most difficult challenge for them so far and that they absolutely hate putting their photo out there for everyone to see.

But, I’ve looked at each of them and just thought “They look so beautiful! Why wouldn’t they want to show off that face?” And to finally put a face to each name has been incredibly awesome.

I have a lot of photos on my computer that I need to edit and post, but today I am addicted to checking out faces and am off to go see even more of the beautiful, amazing, wonderful faces that have been added to the mix this week.

In the meantime, I’ve been suckered into another meme (just one more thing I think I’ve become addicted too…)

Here we go!

1. Were you named after anyone?
I was named after my mom’s best friend who was killed in a car accident before I was born. I was just talking to my mom on the phone on Sunday and we somehow got on the topic of her friend. I could hear the tears in my mom’s voice while she was talking about her. Can you imagine someone loving you so much that even 35 years later they still cried over you being gone? That’s the kind of friend I hope that I am to others.

2. When was the last time you cried?
I had one of those awful nightmares a few days ago when someone in my family died. Cried like a baby!

3. Do you like your handwriting?
You mean my chicken scratch? No…I hate it. Bad handwriting runs in my mom’s family.

4. What is your favorite lunch meat?
Lemon Pepper Turkey – yum.

5. Do you have kids?
Four beautiful munchkins that keep life lively and fun. I think you all have seen them around here a *few* times.

6. If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
Of course I would – who doesn’t want the *perfect* friend?!

7. Do you use sarcasm?
Who me? What makes you think that? (See above answer.) Never…no way…not at all. 😉

8. Do you still have your tonsils?
Yes.

9. Would you bungee jump?
If I were on The Amazing Race and had the chance to win a million dollars for doing so…I would bungee jump.

10. What is your favorite cereal?
Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch (because I have the maturity of a 10-year-old…ha!)

11. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
No. I can’t even yell at my kids about it because I am just as bad as them.

13. What is your favorite ice cream?
Anything with chocolate and peanut butter in it.

14. What is the first thing you notice about people?
I probably notice if they are a guy or a girl first. And then their eyes.

15. Red or pink?
Red.

16. What is the least favorite thing about yourself?
The fact that I am in my 30’s and I have zits. That is just so not right!

17. Who do you miss the most?
My brothers and their significant others. Wish they lived closer to us.

18. Do you want everyone to complete this list?
I hate questions like this. Whatever – anyone, everyone, whoever, no one. It’s all good.

19. What color pants and shoes are you wearing?
Barefoot and gray sweatpants. I’m stylin’ today!

21. What are you listening to right now?
My IMEEM music playlist.

Red

23. Favorite smells?
Vanilla; little babies after their bath; bubble baths; my grandma’s perfume – Ciara; fall leaves; bonfire…(this list could go on for awhile.)

24. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
My man. Who was being a really smartypants if I do say so myself.

25. Do you like the person who sent this to you?
I was tagged by a high school friend on Facebook. I really don’t know her that well any longer, but she was super-fun in school.

UFC. (I know…I’m weird but I love it!)

Changes a lot. Right now it’s dark brown with some auburn in it.

29. Do you wear contacts?
Thank goodness I can say NO to this question now!! Laser surgery is the bomb.

30. Favorite food?
Steak.

31. Scary movies or happy endings?
No scary movies…ever. Hate them.

32. Last movie you watched?
Monsters vs. Aliens. The kids loved it; I thought it was boring but not horrible; Sweatiepy has declared it “the worst movie ever” and claimed that it was even worse that Ratatouille (which u
p until this time was his movie litmus test.)

33. What color shirt are you wearing?
White tank top.

34. Summer or winter?
Summer, fall or spring. Anything but winter.

Sioux Falls, SD

47. Whose answers are you looking forward to getting back?
Anyone who wants to leave their answers in the comments below. I love reading how we are all different and similar.

48. How did you meet your spouse/significant other?
We first met at church when I was in junior high and he was in high school. We reconnected when I was in college and we ran into each other while walking through the mall one night. The rest, as they say, is history.

And, since I’m supposed to have gained a new-found freedom in posting photos of myself…here is a photo that my sister took of me and her gorgeous little girl, Jordyn. Please ignore my big chin that I didn’t know I had until I saw this photo.
