Dear Friends…Near & Far.

I remember when I first signed up to be a Stampin’ Up demonstrator eight years ago and I began to get involved in online groups just for other demonstrators like myself.

One day a lady named Kim emailed me and said “I just saw the note you wrote on our discussion group and realized that you live in Ohio. I do too! What part of Ohio are you from?”

I wrote her back and we soon discovered that we lived literally 15 minutes away from each other. We quickly became email buddies and eventually she asked me if I’d like to go to a stamp meeting with her that her group was holding.

Would I? Of course I would! We made arrangements to meet each other for the first time at her house where we could then drive to the meeting (which was over an hour away) together.

I was getting ready to leave the house that day when my hubby looked at me and said “You do realize that you are driving to a house that you have never seen before and are going to drive somewhere you’ve never been to before with a person you have never even seen before. You do realize that, right?”

The situation became slightly weird when he put it that way. That brief email from Kim was the start of a beautiful friendship though…she was someone I completely connected with in so many ways and I still consider her to be a great friend even though our paths have gone different ways. She’s just one of those people that I can write a note to at anytime and we will instantly be reconnected like no time has passed at all.

Last night it hit me that my little giveaway that I did yesterday was probably much like this situation I just described for many of you. Here I am, someone you really don’t know at all, asking for your address so I can send you something in the mail…a bit creepy when you think about it that way! On the other hand though, it’s been amazing to me how close I feel to many of you (even though we have never met) and how much I appreciate the friendships that we have made. You all have added a lot of joy and fun to my life and I thank you for that.

I hope that you all feel the same way and that you will enjoy getting my little, homemade, probably has lots of mistakes on it card in the mail. Hopefully it will be a bit of sunshine in the midst of our gray, almost winter days that we are experiencing right now.

Most of the cards are in addressed envelopes ready to go to the post office. If you have not emailed me your address yet, please be sure to do so. (I think I still need addresses for kate, anne in arizona, carrie from oikology, heasleye and prettynpink right now.) I’d like to get your card sent to you before my little brain gets busy and forgets to do it. That happens to me a LOT. {sigh}

And finally, this photo collage is on here just to give you a little hint of what I’ll be posting about tomorrow.

Yes, believe it or not, I (Miss Doesn’t-Know-Anything-About-Decorating) will have some holiday decorating ideas for you.

Of course, all of these ideas are stolen from an event I attended last night…but we don’t really need to tell anyone that little bit of information. Do we?
