Christmas Extravaganza – Part III

This is the third, and final, installment of the photos I took at the “These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things” holiday event that I attended earlier this week.

I hope you’ve found a few ideas to inspire you this season. For Christmas, I usually decorate our tree and slap up a few decorations…but I’m starting to think that I might need to try something a little bit more special now that the kids are getting older (and are less apt to accidentally ruin everything I put out.)

One of the nicest things about the event was that it didn’t just offer Christmas decorating ideas, but there were also some fall tables sprinkled throughout and even some tables that could be used for a New Year’s Eve party you might have…

And while every table wasn’t exactly my “style” or to my taste, I was still impressed by the amount of time, effort and attention to detail that each decorator had used to set her table apart from the others. Truly amazing!

Here are the last few decorating ideas that I have to share with you…

“Espresso Your Love”

Just as God has expressed his kindness to us, we should show others this kindness and lvoe. A great way to “espresso” His love is over coffee…taking the time to sit down, have some coffee and chat. I Peter 2:1-3

“Coffee and Chocolate with a Friend”

I love Christmas time and can’t think of anything better than relaxing with a cup of coffee, chocolate and a good book with a special friend. What a friend we have in Jesus! Proverbs 15:15

“Precious Stones”
How beautiful will be the new Jerusalem! The streets of gold with the foundations of the walls adorned with all kinds of precious stones: jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, beryl, amythyst. The gates will be pearls. Revelations 21:10-11

“Bask In His Glory”

While driving one day, I passed a large sunflower farm. Every flower was standing tall and proudly looking to the sun. May we follow their example and always look to “the Son” reaching higher every day. Psalm 34:5

“Candy Cane Memories”
As the candy cane tells us of the birth and death of Jesus Christ, the memories of candy canes shared with family and friends brings us joy. Romans 15:19

The hospitality that Christians show to all men is that the love of God shows in their good conduct. We should show forth the love or charity which Christ has shown to us. While we may not know which role we may be in sometimes. Hebrews 13:2

The Vintage Prize Table

In addition to many other door prizes, there was an entire table decorated in a vintage style…if your name was drawn, you got to take home everything on that table!

My thoughts today:

1) Coffee beans seemed to be THE decorating idea of the year…and I loved it! I am not a coffee drinker, but I love the smell of coffee beans and fresh brewed coffee.

2) On the “Precious Stones” table ~ how would you clean the beaded silverware if people actually used them to eat?

3) I love the way that every hostess somehow related her table back to the Bible…and some of them were very creative about it. I was very impressed! 🙂

I hope that you found a little inspiration over the past three days. I’m thinking that I might need to go shopping today!
