My First "Nature Photography" Try.

On our “Leaf and Seed Book Project” hunt the other afternoon, I decided to try my hand at nature photography…as far as I can remember, I don’t think I’ve really tried that out before.

And now I’m thinking that I’ve got a long way to go to become even slightly as good as the amazing photographers I see on flickr, but it was fun and quite a bit different than the faces that I’m usually focusing on. And (except in the rare cases when the wind picked up) the subject was calm, cool and collected and looked at the camera the entire time! What a concept.

The only thing that is a bit frustrating for me when it comes to nature photography is the fact that I don’t think I have the correct type of camera lens for these kinds of photos. I only own the stinky lens that came with my camera and then a Canon Zoom Lens (75-300 mm.) That’s the “I love and adore you”, “Can’t imagine life without you”, “I use you for almost everything” lens in my life. Not that I’m being dramatic or anything.

So, I now present to you my first Nature Photography Session:

I did find it to be a bit addicting as well! I’m sure I’ll be heading out again soon to practice, practice and then practice some more.
