A Jack-O-Lantern Night.

The jack -o’lantern chuckled
Then winked his funny eye,
“I would rather be a pumpkin-face
Than be inside a pie!”

It was The Arthur Clan’s annual “Jack-o-Lantern” carving time this weekend and last night. While Dad was still called into duty for the two pumpkins carvings that the little boys picked out….he was extremely thrilled to realize that Will and Weslea wanted to try their hand at carving their own pumpkins this year.

I can just imagine him saying…”Oh no you don’t. I am the official pumpkin carver around here and the two of you are not taking my job away from me!”

In reality it was more like this…“Finally! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”…while he threw the pumpkin carving supplies at them and then ran to lock himself in the bedroom.
Dad has been the official pumpkin carver for far too many years now and he is more than happy to be able to pass on the pumpkin carving duties now that some of the kids are old enough for it.
They all went for a spooky, crazy look this year. Since our road is so deserted, no one else will probably ever see these, but the kids sure enjoy participating in this yearly tradition with their daddy and will want to light up their creations (no matter how droopy and gross they might get) for the next 64 days at least.
