Fairy Houses

Do you remember making fairy houses when you were young? I had totally forgetten about doing things like that until I was reading through Allyson’s blog the other day. I ended up sharing her post with my kiddos and let me tell you…that just started a whole slew of creativity around our yard. My “rules” for Fairy Houses were brief and to the point: 1) you need to use things from nature to make your creation and 2) you need to have fun!

Will’s house was fairly utilitarian but he was very proud of his effort. I was warned over and over…and over and over…and over and over again…to “watch where you are walking mom or you might step on it!”
Wyatt and Weston had tons of fun making their houses, but didn’t quite grasp the “only use items from nature” rule…

and the dinosaurs might be just a little bit scary for the teeny, tiny fairies when they come…the boys seemed to think the fairies should just get over their fear and live life a little already.

Weslea’s fairy house spoke to my heart though…it was soooo cute and soooo creative and such a girly-girl fairy house creation. I would of loved playing with her fairy house when I was a little girl. Heck, I might go out and play with it tomorrow when she’s at school and won’t know any better. It has a cute little sign…
And a foyer (how sweet is that?!)…

And it was just absolutely adorable if I do say so myself!
