Little Wessie is now 7!

Weslea and I celebrated her birthday one day early on Sunday by taking Caryn (and Janine) to the mall to do a bunch of fun, girly activities together. We started out by visiting the pottery store ~ Weslea picked a really cute dog to paint and Caryn made a pretty soccer scene:

After that we headed over to Build-A-Bear where each of the girls made a stuffed dog. Caryn picked out a cute little dress for her dog and Weslea picked out a fancy kitty-cat Halloween costume Yeah…you read that right…she bought a dog and then made it into a cat! Makes perfect sense, right?!

While we were walking to the next store, we stopped at a kiosk where the worker curled Weslea’s hair. Janine was amazed with the results ~ she’s the one that literally spent hours curling Weslea’s hair for Jeff and D’s wedding a couple of years ago. By the time she would get to the other side of Weslea’s head, the curls on the first side of her head were falling out already (even with 10 tons of hairspray!) I, of course, ended up buying the very expensive curling iron which Bill was “thrilled” to see when we got home. He thinks that I collect as many curling irons as I have stamps…

After the girls stopped into Claire’s (where they each picked out a keychain), the pet store (where we did NOT buy anything) and then the Concoctions store (where they each made lip gloss and stick candy)…we headed to our last activity where we played glow-in-the-dark putt-putt golf. They had great fun golfing and posing with all the neat props!

To end our evening, we headed into Olive Garden for dinner and a really, super-yummy chocolate birthday cake. Caryn’s gift to Weslea was a High School Musical 2 purse and music CD. Weslea was thrilled and the girls had a long conversation at dinner about how much they LOVED Troy and how cute he was…. I’m just “thrilled” that I get to lisen to the HSM2 music CD 24 hours a day now….thank you so much Janine!

All in all, we had a wonderful day together and I’m somewhat rethinking my every girl needs a sister idea. Lots of fun….lots of bickering….lots of loud giggling. Maybe one day a year is enough!
