The Making Of An Igloo…

We had another VBS decorating event at church tonight. Thanks to Jean Scandlon, the decorations are going to be absolutely fabulous! Our VBS is an Arctic theme this year which has been a lot of fun to come up with ideas for (great bear lodge, icebergs, moose, puffins, polar bears, etc.)

So, the church has been saving milk jugs since February to make an igloo for the preschool/kindergarten room. Guess who had the bright idea to do that?! We spent 2 1/2 hours tonight hot gluing milk jugs together (some of which hadn’t been rinsed out very well before they were brought in.) We have six layers done which took about 300+ milk jugs. I actually took my camera with me and still forgot to take a picture! The picture I have below is one that I found online ~ our igloo is about four times larger than that one. I’ll be sure to post a picture of the real thing once it is finished.

This is the room Wyatt and Weslea are going to be in….I can’t even imagine how excited they are going to be when they walk in their room! Too much fun…
