Have you ever noticed that when you try to leave comments on certain blogs, your photo never shows up next to it?
That’s because you need a gravatar!
When my blog was on Blogger, most of my blogging friends left comments on my site through Blogger’s system and I was able to see everyone’s beautiful faces, logos and profile pics that way. Now that my blog is on the WordPress platform though, I miss your smiling faces! I would love for each of you to set up a free gravatar so that I can see you again.
What is Gravatar?
A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is simply an avatar image that follows your email address around from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. The way I set mine up was through a free website called Gravatar. It’s quick, easy and free to do!
1| Click on over to Gravatar and set up your free account using the email address that you like to use on blogs you comment on. This should take less than 5 minutes to do.
2| After your account is set up, head back here to The Arthur Clan and leave a comment (using the same email address you used over at Gravatar.com). You will now see your image next to the comment that you left!
• Then, instead of my seeing my default comment image (my blog logo):
{That’s a little boring!}
• I can see all of YOU instead! (This screenshot shows a sample of one of my gravatar-enabled comments over on I Heart Faces.)
It’s that easy! Now go forth and become gravatar enabled today. :)
