I found out just a few days ago that one of my bloggy friends, Carrie, lives only a half hour or so away from my brother. How lucky am I?! We’ve already decided that the next time I make a big visit to see him, we will be having a major lunch date together.
While visiting Carrie’s blog last week, I noticed that she had a really cool “My ABC’s” meme that she had filled out. I decided to be a copycat and use it for my blog as well.
Here we go with “My ABC’s”…
A – Age: In my dreams, I am “Forever 29.” In real life, I am 35 and 3/4. In June I am going to officially be much closer to 40 than to 30. I am not really very happy about that.
B – Bed Size: Queen. I long for a King-size bed. The hubs says I always hog his side of the bed (he’s a liar of course!)
C – Chore You Hate: COOKING. I’d honestly rather clean toilets than cook.
D – Dad’s Name: Jerold
E – Essential Start Your Day Item: Diet Coke (Since “The Kidney Stone of 2008″ though I don’t let myself have them as much anymore which really stinks.)
F – Favorite TV Show: The Office (American version.) Any other The Office fans out there?? I own almost every season on DVD and could watch old episodes every night.
G – Gold or Silver: Silver – the non-shiny silver. I really love a copper look most right now though.
H – Height: 5’2″…if I’m lucky. Sweatiepy is 6’2″ so we make quite a pair.
I – Instruments You Play(ed): Piano. Love it…it’s been a passion of mine since I first started taking lessons. If I had to make a choice, I’d probably give up my camera before I’d give up playing the piano (you can imagine just how tough that choice would be for me.)
My dad made me learn how to play an accordian when I was younger (embarrassing!)
J – Job Title: My first prioirities are being a mom and wife; I enjoy being a SU Demo (just a hobby demo now); I am working overtime with Amy now trying to make I ♥ Faces as awesome as it can possibly be
K – Kid(s): The “4 W’s” and sometimes an additional one named Sweatiepy
L – Living Arrangement: Smallish, fixer-upper home located on almost 12 acres in Amish Country, Ohio; I love my life in the middle-of-nowhere
M – Mom’s Name: Karen.
Interesting note: My Grandma’s name was June. My mom’s name is Karen June (she was the 2nd daughter.) My name is Angela June (I was the 2nd daughter.) My second daughter was supposed to have the middle name of June too but someone has decided that we are done having children and completely ruined that tradition for me.
Not that I’m bitter or anything.
N – Nicknames: My real name is Angela so….Angie, Ang (to close friends and family), Mommy, Mom, Mamasita (thanks to the hubs for starting that one), Woman (when he wants to die), Dimpled Darling (the childhood nickname my dad called me)
O – Overnight Hospital Stays Other Than Birth: Nada. I am so thankful for that!
P – Pet Peeve: Word Verification. (I apologize to all of you who use it…but I hate it!)
Q – Quotes You Like: Be A Blessing! My mom said this to me and my siblings every single time we left the house when we were young. I say it to my kids now just to drive them crazy.
R – Right or Left-Handed: Right.
S – Siblings: Two sisters and two brothers. Other than hubby they are my best friends in the world!
T – Time You Wake Up: 7:30 a.m. but only because I have to. I am not a morning person at all and would sleep until 9:00 a.m. every day if I could.
U – Ultimate Dessert: I’m more of a “steak & potatoes” type of gal, but I’d have a hard time saying no to any dessert that had chocolate and peanut butter in it.
V – Vegetable You Dislike: Tomatoes. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate them.
W – Ways You Run Late: I don’t like to be late. Weston is late everyday to preschool though because I have to drop the other kids off at their school first (and both schools start at the same exact time.) I hate that he’s late, but there is really nothing I can do about it.
X – X-rays You’ve Had: My teeth (does that count?) Other than that, I don’t think any. I had a CAT scan when I was passing “The Kidney Stone” and no one knew what was wrong with me yet.
Y – Yummy Food You Make: Angie = The Worst Cook In The World. Sweatiepy loves it when I make chocolate chip cookies though.
Z – Zoo Animal: They are all pretty cool, aren’t they? Lions, Elephants, Polar Bears, Camels, Monkeys…I like them all. Except snakes. I have a huge phobia concerning snakes.
So, do I have anything in common with you?

HELLS YEAH WE ARE HAVING LUNCH! WA-HOOOOOOOO!!!!
And now, the list:
You are SO invited to come over ANYTIME to clean my toilets. I promise I will cook for you. I promise. Pretty pretty please come clean my toilets???
Oooooo, I forgot about teeth x-rays! Good catch!
By the way, I think Mamasita is pretty tame, considering who you’re married to! ” )
I love the Office and hate tomatoes. We’re two of a kind.
now i really have got to know you a lot better, what a lotttaaa fun this was. i met Mim one of my blogging buddies 2 years ago when she was on a business trip to london and although we had only an hour together, it was like we had known each other forever!
Well, as you know, we are the same height and our husbands are the same height!! I love choc/peanut butter combo. I too would rather clean the toilet than plan a meal.
Sadly, I absolutely adore tomatoes….
You mentioned at one time your bro lives in NJ and you were at the beach there last summer. I have a feeling I must not be too far away from Carrie…
I am a huge Office fan as well! We never miss an episode.
Also, my hubby is exactly one foot taller than me. I’m 5′ and he’s 6′.
I always enjoy reading these surveys. It’s a great way to learn different things about people.
Carrie – you cook for me, I would honestly clean your toilets. No problem!
Susan – we're "soul sistahs!"
Soulbrush & Rachel – I love these too! If you fill it out, I'll love learning more about you.
Dot – the other brother (my baby brother)…totally different direction than NJ and the beach. Sorry!
Ooh, I love this! I may have to do this on my blog. Funny stuff I just learned about you. I feel so normal now. LOL!
NOOOO! Just keep Weston away from that cute little baby Midget of Carrie’s!! I’m jealous.
Amen to Word Verification!!
You’re so stinking short woman:-)
What a fun meme! I’m totally doing this on my blog!
And I love The Office, too!
What a cute idea and a fun way to get to know you better. I’m not a morning person either but drinking a coke in the morning does wonders for me too!
What we have in common? I hate cooking too! But……I would not rather clean toilets, so I´ll just let my cleaning lady continue doing that…
I enjoyed this list. Got to know you better, that´s great!
Love this Meme! What a fun idea!
I can’t cook either. It’s sad, really…
This was so much fun! I have TONS of things in common with you! In fact, I am writing a post about the whole bed thing soon. Maybe tonight : ). Maybe right this second since supper is already cooking and Kaish is outside riding his bike. You are super de duper interesting for sure! : ). I wish your brother lived near me because I would so love to meet!
Interesting list, but I don’t understand the kidney stone/Diet Coke connection. I did a science experiment once when I was a kid to see how long it took a tooth to decay in a glass of soda. Does it break down kidney stones too?
Some doctors feel that there is a correlation between drinking soda pop and having kidney stones. It hasn’t been officially proven (I don’t think) but I was a major Diet Coke drinker (as in 8-10 cans a day at least.)
After passing one kidney stone, I was pretty much willing to do ANYTHING to make sure I never had to pass another one again. It’s a horrible, awful thing to go through. So, I decided to severely limit my Diet Coke drinkage. {sob!}
The CAT scan showed that I have a lot more stones in both kidneys so I am living on pins and needles waiting for them to break off and provide me with a couple hours of “entertainment” sometime soon…
YAY from another 5’2″ married to a 6’2″! I never pictured you vertically challenged and am now delighted to find another friend my size
My m-i-l’s name was June and we used it as one of our daughter’s middle names. You don’t hear that name much anymore, so it’s sweet to hear that it is being carried on…and hopefully will be carried on further after some divine intervention…hee hee…
My step-dad always called me Tamasita
You know, I hate word verification, too, since it usually takes me more than one attempt :::sigh::: before hitting the keys right. HOWEVER, I ended up putting it on blog since people complained about me not having an anonymous option and once I did that I was getting spam. What’s a blogger to do?
And, um, Amy….I have dibs on Weston for my littlest sweet darling *wink*
Such fun!
Blessings,
Tammy ~@~
I hate word verification, too. I can never make out what I’m supposed to type let alone correctly type it!
That was fun! And yep… word verification is a pet peeve for me as well.
Hope you don’t mind, but I took your meme idea.
It was fun, and I loved yours.
I too hate word verification….I really stink at getting them right. I did add one finally after getting repeat comments in Chinese for weeks.
Awesome post! I miss you! Hope you are doing well! ♥ Hugs
Oh, I start my day off every day with a diet soda!!! I’m so so so addicted…it’s quite bad! I drink them throughout the day too. I really need to cut back and eventually quit! But, I don’t drink coffee or much alchohol, don’t smoke, so… he he he!!!
T. 7.30 am is by necessity only. I would be up til 1 and sleep til 9 if i could.
and a million other things. i think we have a WHOLE lot more in common than just this list can contain!!
