I have a hard time believing that we are already entering our fourth week at I ♥ Faces and what an awesome theme we have this week ~ “The Eyes Have It.” In addition to our regular Kids and Adults categories, we are also having a special Pets category this week as well.
You all know that I can’t officially win any of the contests…but I sure love playing along for the fun of it. I can’t wait to see what I learn from everyone’s entries this week!
My Kids Entry:
This is a photo I just took the other day of my oldest son, Will, enjoying his play time in the snow with the neighbor boys. I think it’s one of those rare photos I’ve shot where I got both eyes perfectly in focus, he wasn’t squinting from the sun glare, he wasn’t giving me his typical goofy “mom’s got the camera” smile and his eyes just seemed to completely pop with color. This photo makes me smile everytime I see it!
Isn’t she a beauty? That red hair, freckles and those amazing eyes. I had never even met Krista until I took some senior photos (just for my personal practice) for one of the lifeguards at the lake we get a membership at each year. I decided to put a bunch of low-res images on Chelsey’s Facebook page so that she could share them with her friends. A couple of days later Krista (who was friends with Chelsey) contacted me and asked me if I would be interested in taking her senior photos for her.
My advice to anyone who is thinking about starting their own photography business (which I’m not…it’s just for fun for me right now) is to get on Facebook and if someone has you take their photos, put them on there so that they can share them with their friends. It’s a great way to drum up interest in your business without costing you a penny!
You’ve seen a lot of these photos on my blog ~ this is my daughter loving on our friend’s puppy. I know, I know…get the girl a dog already! 🙂
If you are interested in improving your photography, meeting new friends who share your photography interest, having wonderful fun and being inspired…check us out at I ♥ Faces. We’d love to have you “show us your face.”
And if you aren’t interested in photography, I hope you just enjoy looking at the entries I put into the contest!
